CRAVINGS

Posted by dawn On December - 20 - 20092 COMMENTS

My room is ALMOST there! At first I thought I couldn’t do it by 23rd as I was sick last weekend which kinda delayed my plan. But well, I got my tired butt off the bed today and managed to clear the wardrobe! :)

Very happy. Threw out a whole load of ‘maybe one day I’ll need them’ stuffs. One huge, SUPER HUGE garbage bags of clothes. Some are still so new. Will donate that. Wow…actually feels good to have less clutter in my life. Can literally feel some burden off my chest. Mum always says, if the old doesn’t go out, the new can’t come in. =)

YAY! So as I have said, there are these mags that I would want to read again? They are still in my room. I am actually reading them again. Well, it’s useful so I’m still keeping them :)

So let me just share something interesting I read while browsing them.

APPARENTLY, according to a US psychologist, cravings are a good indication of how we are feeling.

FOOD MOODS

CAFFEINE and SUGAR = you are feeling sad or low

(seldom crave for these. I’m probably really happy? haha. yea right)

CARBS = lonely and sexually frustrated.

SALT = high levels of stress

(this explains why I used to crave for potato chips when studying for exams in uni BUT never dared to eat them as I read somewhere that it lowers one’s IQ. Of course I couldn’t take the risk nearing exams :p)

MEAT = angry or ill tempered

ICE CREAM = in need of some sort of comfort

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I AM ALWAYS IN NEED OF SOME SORT OF COMFORT? :)
mAybe… I LOVE HUGSSS too :)
4 days to CHRISTMAS! :)
Have a great week ahead!
LISTERINE
Posted by dawn On December - 13 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Just a mouth wash. Most, including myself would think. But think again. I read this article in The Edge, Haven. Apparently, Listerine can be used to do so many other things, it’s amazing. I will list the common useful ones here:
As a disinfectant
You can mix equal amounts of listerine and water in a spray bottle and it’s good to go. Now you can have cost effective handy germ killing solution to wipe commonly shared surfaces such as telephone receivers, keyboards, mouse, etc. However, it is not suitable for wooden surfaces UNLESS it is alcohol free.
As a deodorant
If your deodorant is finished and you are rushing out, a bottle of Listerine may just help. Spray on the surface area, leave for ten minutes then dry off the solution with a dry cloth. Additionally, a capful of Listerine added to your load of dirty laundry in the washing machine ensures fresh smelling clothes! I’m so gonna try that.
*OK why am i sharing this? Listerine should give me some commission for any increase in sales :p*
To clean toothbrushes
Most of us who are paranoid of germs often brush, floss and gargle to maintain our oral hygiene. But how many of us wash our toothbrushes? According to the article, toothbrushes are fertile grounds for bacteria which not only survives BUT multiply in the damp pockets between the bristles! yucks.
Well, here is how the suggest we clean our toothbrushes. So simple and easy. Must make sure I do it once a month at least. Mix 2 teaspoons of Listerine with 1 teaspoon of water and soak for a minute. That’s it!
As a repellant
The one thing created that I hate most. MOSQUITOES. By simply rubbing some Listerine on your skin before heading outdoors keeps them away! :) (it was mentioned that Original Listerine works the best for this point. I don’t really understand. Maybe it’s original flavour or do they have pirated Listerine??? :p)
On another note, I read somewhere a while ago that these annoying creatures are attracted to blue colours. So if you are planning to go outdoors, maybe, contrary to popular believe, black is a better choice.
Hope you find these tips useful! =)
It’s been a while
Posted by dawn On December - 5 - 20093 COMMENTS
Yes it’s been a while since I blogged. In fact it’s been a while since I do these things listed below:
-walk in the park
-meet up with friends
-read a book
-go in-line skating
-swimming
-dancing
-sleeping till 10am
-clean my room
-clear my drawers, cupboards…etc.
-take a stroll in the park
-play the piano
-learn my mandarin! *so sad, my goal failed* (will continue ASAP when I can)
-go on holiday
OK so the list goes on. Since I haven’t do so much of the things listed above, decided to clean room today.
So since I have SO MUCH JUNK. I have decided to FORTHEFIRSTTIMEINMYLIFE, really throw things out to be recycled. AND MEAN IT.
I have this bad habit of ‘I don’t need this BUT I might need it one day’ or ‘Oh, this is the assignment I did so well, worked so hard and got fantastic score in Uni, maybe I should keep it for remembrance’ OR ‘I might wanna read this mag again’ and of course the list goes on.
So since I have finally decided I seriously want a uncluttered comfortable spacious room, went to buy some huge black plastic bags from the hardware store. AND when I was paying for it, I realized something that make me smile to myself like an idiot BCOZ:
It dawned on me that I just bought plastic bags that were handed to me in a plastic bag. =)
It’s weirdly funny. hehe.
OK so let the battle begin! CHARGE!
GOAL: Clean room. Everything in place. Comfy. ONLY things I need. Plus some new deco.
DATELINE: 23-Dec-2009
Can’t wait to fulfill that long awaited NO JUNK room!
