I think anyone who knows me would know that I have slightly above average ‘positivity’ range. But this evening, in the middle of chaos. I couldn’t be positive. Coz a moment there I couldn’t think at all. Actually, if you have no time don’t read this. It’s just some rambles and stories.

I was accompanying my bro down to his Kumon class. So as usual when I walk to the shops nearby my house, Toffee our dog will follow me half way to the stairs heading to the very busy main road. I was walking with my bro, and our beloved dog, when today he decided to follow us down the stairs. So I thought fine, will ask him to go home when we reach the bottom. Usually Toffee understands when I say ‘bye’ halfway and he’d turn back and head home (he learned that as I always say bye before I head upstairs to my room).

But today, despite being afraid of the traffic, he followed us down the flight of stairs and suddenly out of fear or excitement, God knows. He looked so disoriented. I tried to calm him down but all my efforts failed. I decided to bring my bro across the busy street. As I know quite positively that Toffee would be too afraid to cross that street. Yes he’s a very timid dog. And he is too heavy for my frail arms to carry.

HowEVER, when I was holding my bro’s hand crossing the street, out of the blue Toffee appeared on my left. Still disoriented and scared but following me. When we reached the other side of the road, he decided to turn back. He was afraid. He was running everywhere. Trying to cross the road where cars are ‘zooming’ by. OK sort of. Thank God it was peak hour. At the same time I was trying to get Toffee to calm down, my bro was also shouting for him. He was worried. I nearly had heart attack. I was trying to calm him down so that I can get the vet people nearby to leash him for a while. But all is in vain. I couldn’t.

I decided then to let my bro stand there by the side. Coz if he were to follow me to get Toffee then I’d have to take care of two ‘person’. So I decided to bring Toffee to cross to the other side dangerously. Yes, coz he would have to be smart to follow me as there’s not leash on him (like I said, never expected him to follow so far). Thank God we managed to cross to the other side. I led him up the stairs and turned back down to go meet my bro on the other side. Then Zach shouted saying that Toffee would come down the stairs. When I reached the bottom. I look up at him. Pleased with myself as he watches me from the top. As I thought he would turn to leave, he came charging down! And going up the sidewalk which I know he would loose his way if I let him. I don’t know I just couldn’t take that risk.

I was calling out to him excitedly and so out of breath, I had to run up the stairs excitedly so he’d follow me. In that process, he (the fat ass) nearly knocked me down. In the end I had to send him half way home before he decides to not be my body guard. Whew!

I was so relieved! And so panic that my hands were shaking. When I crossed to the other side to meet my bro, I went ‘whew!’ with a little hop. Then Zach said “Hey your phone! *pointing to the ground*”

GOSH! My virgin-never-dropped-before phone lying on the ground. Ouch! Heartache. It was not on the ground on the ground. I was on a TARRED ground! Now part of my phone has teeth like chips. And some blue colour got chipped off at the bottom. Ouch. Again. Never drop. Once drop, super injured.

I would say it was not such a good evening.

So well, it’s something simple. But I think it’s sweet. So…a not so good evening. A pretty s.w.e.e.t night.

P/S : And when I walked from one end to the other end of the shops while waiting for my bro. Like super the other end to bind my stuff, the note on the door says ONE DAY OFF, 1ST OCT 2009. –__-
