My Face

Posted by dawn On September - 30 - 20098 COMMENTS

When I go for photo shoots it’s quite common that make up artiste say I look like someone. Of course we all get it sometimes. Some have said that I look like:

Sammi Cheng the Hong Kong artiste. Satkuru thinks I look a little like her too at certain angles when he was taking pictures during the Malaysian Dreamgirls first photo shoot here:

And so I tried to compare with a similar make up. Red lips. HERE:

A few also said I look like Anita Yuen. Hong Kong actress if I’m right. The first time was when I was in my teens and my God bro said I look like her.

Many said I look like Stephanie Sun. Singapore’s renowned singer.

I didn’t think much of it since make up artist has nothing much to look at but your face. So naturally they would comment about my face. UNTIL I spoke to this guy at the music store and he said: Has anyone told you that you look like Stefanie Sun Yan Zi?

So, it got me really curious. Do I look THAT common? Of course it’s a compliment that people think I look like celebrities instead of this friend of ours here that  some friends think I look like:

HAHA! Terrible right my friends? :p

So like I said, I was so curious, one day I decided to Google and found this site which allows me to upload my pictures for a celebrity face recognition. It suggest that I upload more than one picture and compare the results and if a celebrity appears in both, that’s most likely the closest to your face. So I decided to put pictures of me with make up and without, short hair and long hair. AND the result?

The face recognition recognizes my face with a percentage as high as 97%  similar to her:

Zhang Ziyi the famous actress.

So far in my life only one person said I look like her. My classmate from high school who sits two tables away from me.

For me, I don’t really think I look a lot like them. Probably sometimes you look at someone, they give you that kind of ‘feel’ of someone else and people conclude you look like them. Do you know what I mean? haha. It’s like if I put their pictures and mine together, you can really see the difference from feature to feature. But if you just see the person in your mind and compare with someone you see live, they may be alike UNTIL you put them together. haha. OK just forget it if I’m confusing you. :)

Oh well, but the most champion of all is Damian. He thinks I look like

Have a nice day. Hope I gave you some entertainment :)

Are you kidding me?

This morning as I was driving off to ‘work’ and listening to the radio, this DJ was calling a ticketing counter at approximately 10.55 am to check on the number of tickets left for a show or some performance.

DJ: Hello

Lady: Hello

DJ: I would like to check the most cheapest ticket. How many are there left?

MOST CHEAPEST???

ON NA-TIOOOO-NAAaaaL RADIO???

oH COME ON WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.

OK I know it could be human error or whatever but MOST CHEAPEST? Seriously?

Might as well call it Hani Madu on Fly fm LAdio. Or is it LaLio? –___-

Kangkung

Posted by dawn On September - 27 - 20097 COMMENTS

Was listening to hitz.fm the other day and there was this conversation of a caller with the DJ.

DJ: What is the currency of Malaysia’s money?

Caller: Ringgit

DJ: Congratulations! That’s RM 1000 for you! OK next question, what is kangkung called in english?

Caller: eR…Ve-gee-ta-ble

HAHAHA! I found it funny! :p

But seriously, what’s kangkung in english? haha!

I’d probably answer kang-kung (where kang rhymes with DANGling and kung goes like…kooooung) –___-

OK. Yes I’m lame. Over and out!

Raya 2009

Posted by dawn On September - 25 - 20092 COMMENTS

Eve of Raya, had lunch before heading to Jim’s place.

Weather looks gloomy but I think it’s good especially when we’d be dining outdoors.

Wind wind! I like :)

We arrived about 4pm and there are already many people there.

Decided to not drink and eat till they buka puasa. By 5pm I was like so thristy. haha! Really don’t know how they do it whole day. I mean not eating is ok BUT not drinking? Wow…

Little girl not fasting yet. SO SO beaAUtifullll =)

She came up to me and said:

Hello Aunty, how are you?

Good thanks :)

Aunty you so cantik la *smiles*

So sweet and humble right? When she herself is so beautiful. Aww…

Oh so brave too coz we don’t know each other before that.

Restlessly taking pictures waiting to break fast.

Spiderman’s son came too!

OH! The wife too! :p

The men chatting and cooking outside.

The ladies in the kitchen preparing food stuffs.

Youngsters in the hall playing with laptop.

Me watching the kids play.

The moment to break fast was like heaven on earth. I haven’t been drinking for ONLY 3 hours man and it feels that way. Just imagine them cooking and working around the house preparing. Whew…thought of it makes me sweat.

On the eve, the Malays dress normally but on Raya, it’s full complete traditional dressing :) NICE.

It’s cool that they still practice traditional wear. Hmm…I wanna wear cheongsam every CNY. But sometimes it’s just so HOT and during that time of the year, it’s worse. Next time should make the whole family wear traditional for CNY :)

Lovely lovely. Had my favourite rendang lemang fix. Some real good tempe. Oh by the way, tempe is really good for your health you know?

Selamat Hari Raya once again!

Best Pan Mee

Posted by dawn On September - 21 - 20097 COMMENTS

Last Sunday after the 10.30 am mass at St. Johns, we decided to head to our favourite Pan Mee place. Pan mee, pan mian, min fun char kor, min fun kuey or whatever you call it. This place in Sri Kembangan has the best pan mee after my grandma’s.

Instead of the usual pork meat with egg and anchovies, this place you can op for no meat version which we always order. Just prawns, veg and anchovies. mmm…nice. Besides that, they also have the best ‘kat chai shuen mui’, lime with juice with preserved plum.

It’s so good that I only remember to take this pic after finishing half of it as soon as it arrived. :p

I like it because the dough is soft and not too thick, soup is just nice and of course their chili sauce is amazing. And of course the prawns are fresh too. I don’t really like to eat chicken or pork meat in soup outside coz they can taste pretty weird to me. Like it’s not fresh.

And that is also how I eat it with the chili and anchovies on the side.

THIS is how the boyfriend eats it.

Notice the soup is extra red?j

Coz, in addition to the normal serving of chili and anchovies, he asked for extra and mixed it all in the soup (his version of chili pan mee)

The extra chili is like 5 times what they give for the normal. So for those of you who crazy about chili, this is how you eat it :)

If you wanna go there, it’s pretty complicated if you are not from there. So just call me and bring me along ;)
