Unconventional, reduced

Posted by dawn On July - 2 - 20094 COMMENTS

Went for the Wella shoot at 3pm yesterday and it lasted till 2am. Playing the waiting game due to some delay but it was a great experience meeting new people and of course working with Amber Chia (for the first time), she gave me a few tips to improve. Which I think is nice of her coz she don’t actually have to. Anyway, it was a real tiring but satisfying day. Moreover, now I have a less unconventional hair colour. Still four colours but darker shades coz the Wella expert Mr. Chua decided to change it yesterday. So now it’s like this :)

The unconventional, reDUCED:

I like this more since I think it’s actually more wearable. And given that this is one of the style and colour for the year, it would reach end consumers better than the lighter version. Do check out the lifestyle show on Astro Jia Yu, Channel 304 starting August 1st! More pics coming up soon.

The Unconventional

During Malaysian Dreamgirls, Jerad the producer mentioned that I always get the unconventional. At first it was my hair. When I first joined the competition, my hair was like that:

Then they decided to chop it off…and I looked like that:

After a while it grew a little longer and when it’s not so dressed up and when the colour faded a little, it looks like this:

Just as I was getting comfortable, they decided to do THIS:

OK now that’s unconventional coz only I get a haircut THAT short. In my life, my shortest was this:

Doesn’t end there. When it comes to clothing, they decided to also give me the unconventional belt around my neck as an accessory (God knows why…maybe so they can strangle me if I don’t pose well) for this Marie France shoot:

Also where we had the wedding photoshoot with Chevrolet, I had this big puffed up jacket-like thing over my wedding gown before they decided to choose the final picture without it. And that too, I had glass designs at the edges poking into my skin:

Unconventional because it’s definitely something I won’t wear for my own wedding.

So finally when the competition ends I thought OK, I wanna dye my hair to dark brown since my original is sort of a dark brown mix lighter brown here and there hair and it wouldn’t look so awkward when the roots grow out. I dyed it and it turned out like that:

A little darker than I expected coz it’s like black. And just as I thought finally I can be a little more conventional, there comes a hair job from Wella. And I joked with Jerad asking him “Well, what else can they do to me when my hair’s already so short? Have me go bald?”

Why don’t you take a guess what they did to my hair…:)

Yes yes yes…they gave me a multi colour hair. Purple, orange, red and dark blonde. NOW, THIS I.S unconventional. The shoot’s tomorrow. Can’t wait :) At the same time I also wanna enjoy this once in a lifetime hair. At first I had a shock of my life but later decided oh well, might as well enjoy it right? Think bout it, how many people can say they had or have multi colour hair, done professionally, not paying for it and instead get paid for it? Thought it’s not in the list of things I wanna do before I die, it’s definitely a COLOURFUL experience ;)

Make your life colourful. Don’t worry, don’t have to colour your hair to make it colourful. Just smile! :)
